Rencontres des entrepreneurs de France 2025: What role for the professions of the future in the factory of the future?
Numeum took part in the round table discussion “What roles for the professions of the future in the factory of the future? Along with the entire Syntec Federation, the organization of digital professionals and employers’ association reiterated that digital technology is central to the challenges of the future.
We often talk about the future. But rarely about the people who will have to build it. Today’s generations are faced with a dizzying equation. That of reconciling ecological transition, technological acceleration and social pressure. In the background, an essential question: how can we build a sustainable future without sacrificing innovation or human values?
Digital technology is at the forefront of this equation. Because it transforms everything. Because it requires us to think differently. And because, if properly directed, it can provide immense leverage to meet the challenges of our times.

Digital technology, a catalyst for the ecological transition
The opportunities are numerous. Digital technology can reduce the energy footprint of buildings through data optimization, help farmers make better use of water and resources, or facilitate the integration of intermittent renewable energies into power grids. These are just a few of the many existing and yet-to-be-developed professions that are poised for further growth.
Véronique Torner, President of Numeum, explains: ” digital technology is key to the ecological transition. It acts as a transition gas pedal for many sectors such as agriculture, construction and logistics. “.
Digital technology is essential for facilitating the adoption of intermittent renewable energies and exploring new solutions. In this context, Numeum is convinced that digital technology offers major opportunities for innovation in support of the ecological transition. To this end, the organization is piloting the Planet Tech’Care initiative, which aims to unite players around a responsible digital future.
It brings together a network of partners (professional organizations, schools, competitive clusters, associations, foundations, think tanks) and supports companies wishing to integrate digital technology into their environmental trajectory. The aim is to support those involved in training in the development of responsible digital skills.
Planet Tech’Care assists companies wishing to integrate digital technology into their environmental strategy, and supports the training of future generations of professionals in sustainable digital skills.
A collective future
Concrete, long-term solutions do exist. They can be implemented by enabling digital players to play collectively. As a sign that Numeum is fully committed to collective action, in June 2025 the organization of digital professionals and employers’ association launched theÉquipe de France du Numérique. An initiative designed to unite the ecosystem.
Its ambition is clear: to unite the strengths of the digital industry, so as to have greater influence, act more effectively, and respond to the major challenges of our time. For the digital ecosystem is rich and diverse, brimming with initiatives, talent and innovation in every region. But it remains fragmented, sometimes unclear, and lacks the ability to speak with a single voice.
Innovating without giving up on people
At the crossroads of ecology, technological progress and social urgency, digital technology opens up an exciting field of possibilities. But it will only be an answer to tomorrow’s challenges if it is conceived in a spirit of responsibility and cooperation.
Proof of this clear response, digital technology is emerging as a genuine vector of transformation in the healthcare sector, particularly in prevention. Thanks to connected objects and remote monitoring, patients are becoming active players in their own health (nutrition, smoking, cardiac risks, etc.), producing and sharing their own personal data, enabling more personalized education and follow-up. At the same time, the massive adoption of digital tools by the French (more than 80% wish to exchange information with their doctor by SMS or e-mail for benign care) reflects real societal acceptance of e-health. In addition, Numeum promotes a vision of ” population health “, focused on prevention and early detection, with the aim of supporting 90% of the population in good health so that they remain so in the long term.
Building a sustainable future is not a matter of choosing between innovation and respect for people. On the contrary, it’s the ability to combine the two that will determine our common future.
