“Le grand plan numérique pour l’école” announced this morning by the French President
These proposals echo the concerns and proposals put forward by Syntec Numérique in January 2014 for a national training plan, for and through digital, to accelerate the spread of the necessary skills from the earliest age.
Syntec Numérique has already called for computer code to be one of the priority skills taught in schools, on a par with learning the French language, mastering reading and using mathematics.
It is a major challenge for society to give students the ability to become players in this ecosystem, but also in the digital industry, whose recruitment needs are clear, as demonstrated by the recentContrat d’étude prospective (CEP) for the digital sector, which highlighted more than 36,000 net job creations by 2018.
“Our professional organization is ready to play a full part in this movement and in the implementation of this digital plan for schools in France,” explains Guy Mamou-Mani, President of Syntec Numérique.
