On closer inspection, the French Tech job market is characterized by<strong>major fluctuations<\/strong>. Here&#8217;s how.  <\/p>\n<p>In <strong>July and August combined<\/strong>, 1,800 startups <strong>created <\/strong> <strong>5,000<\/strong> <strong>new <\/strong> <strong>jobs<\/strong>, while 2,200 startups <strong>shed <\/strong> <strong>5,000<\/strong>. Some 6,600 startups maintained their workforce. Whereas <strong>all regions<\/strong> of mainland France (with the exception of three) were<strong> slightly ahead in terms of job creation in July<\/strong>, all these regions (with the exception of two) were <strong>slightly behind in terms of job losses in August<\/strong>. This <strong>reversal <\/strong>is particularly noticeable in the <strong>PACA<\/strong> region <strong>, which had created over 250 jobs in July<\/strong>, only to <strong>shed around 50 the following month<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p>An <strong>atypical summer trend<\/strong> also seems to have been confirmed in August: the<strong>Ile-de-France and Auvergne Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes<\/strong> regions no longer play their role as employment \u201clocomotives\u201d. On the contrary, it was even the <strong>regional employment areas that suffered the most this summer<\/strong>. The <strong>GreenTech<\/strong> sector has been the undisputed leader for many months<strong>(+300 jobs<\/strong> this summer), followed by <strong>FinTech<\/strong><strong>(+350 jobs<\/strong>) and <strong>TransportTech<\/strong> (nearly <strong>150 jobs)<\/strong>. It remains resilient<strong>(+20,500 jobs created since January<\/strong>) and dynamic, but recent results demonstrate the existence of a <strong>shifting, diversified ecosystem<\/strong>.
