After 5 months of slowdown and regulatory uncertainty surrounding support for employment in French startups, October saw the return of positive momentum in this area. French start-ups created almost 850 jobs last month, with a notable monthly variation of +0.3%. <\/p>\n

While we welcome this good news for the sector, we must remain cautious. Firstly, because this upturn remains limited in proportion. The month of October saw half as many jobs created as the monthly average since January (almost 1,600 jobs created per month in 2024). <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n

On the other hand, when we look at the dual trend of job creation and job cuts over time, the overall dynamic is not necessarily favorable. Since April, job creations have declined by 15%, while at the same time job cuts have risen by 42%. <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n

In this month of October, it’s also interesting to note that far fewer startups are cutting jobs than in the previous month (-23%), but still at a high level compared with the monthly average for 2024 (+12%).<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n

In terms of metropolitan regions, our map of France is almost entirely green again. \u00cele de France is back to its standard as the national engine of startup employment. More than half of all startup jobs created in October (53%) were in the Paris region. <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n

\n

As for our sector analysis, our Top Sectors podium is also back on track, and confirms that sectors linked to reindustrialization and the ecological and climate transition are driving employment upwards.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n

In conclusion: the month of October brought a few bright spots in the French Tech job market, but does not necessarily herald a completely sunny end to the year.<\/p>\n
