{"id":22866,"date":"2017-02-06T16:04:37","date_gmt":"2017-02-06T16:04:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/preprod25.numeum.fr\/notes-de-position\/syntec-numerique-mobilizes-for-a-european-data-economy\/"},"modified":"2025-05-29T11:12:02","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T11:12:02","slug":"syntec-numerique-mobilizes-for-a-european-data-economy","status":"publish","type":"position_influence","link":"https:\/\/preprod25.numeum.fr\/en\/notes-de-position\/syntec-numerique-mobilizes-for-a-european-data-economy\/","title":{"rendered":"Syntec Num\u00e9rique mobilizes for a European data economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"align wp-block-texte\">\n                                    <p>The Syntec Num\u00e9rique trade association, which represents 1,800 companies in the sector, has lent its support to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitaleurope.org\/\">DigitalEurope<\/a>&#8216;s initiative on the data economy<strong>, calling on<\/strong>the European Commission to put in place a framework guaranteeing the emergence of a genuine<strong>data<\/strong> economy<strong>in Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitaleurope.org\/DesktopModules\/Bring2mind\/DMX\/Download.aspx?Command=Core_Download&amp;entryID=2303&amp;language=en-US&amp;PortalId=0&amp;TabId=353\" target=\"_blank\">A letter<\/a>(see below) has been sent to Commissioners Andrus Ansip (Digital Single Market), G\u00fcnther Oettinger (Digital Economy) and El\u017cbieta Bie\u0144kowska (Internal Market), inviting them to take a full grasp of this crucial issue for the competitiveness of European players in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>Godefroy de Bentzmann, President of Syntec Num\u00e9rique<em>,<\/em> explains: &#8220;The digital economy and its innovations such as Big Data are based on our ability to circulate data under guaranteed security conditions, which is why we are opposed to the principle of territorial localization of data.<\/p>\n<p>The European Commission&#8217;s proposals on the data economy are expected in early 2017.
